Mother Held After Boy, 3, Is Stabbed in Throat
A 3-year-old boy is recovering from stab wounds and his mother has been arrested on suspicion of causing the injuries, Los Angeles police said.
A neighbor summoned police to the 5500 block of Royer Avenue about 8 p.m. Wednesday, reporting that a child was in a home alone. Officers found the boy with puncture wounds in his throat and half-inch cuts around his neck, police said.
The mother, Marje Lashgari, 32, was found unconscious on a lawn chair in the backyard, police said. The mother and son were hospitalized, but their conditions did not appear to be life-threatening. After police talked to the boy, Lashgari was arrested on suspicion of inflicting injury on a child.
