3 Gang Members Charged in Slaying
Three members of a Pacoima street gang were charged Friday in the shooting death of a 44-year-old businessman near his Buena Park home.
Armando Macias, 28, Alberto Martinez, 26, and Gerardo Lopez, 17, who was charged as an adult, are accused of shooting David Peter Montemayor earlier this week as he ran from his car on Pinyon Street, about a mile from where he lived.
Police say they don’t know what prompted the attack on Montemayor, the father of three who was known to carry large sums of money.
The three alleged assailants were arrested after a 30-mile chase along Orange County freeways.
