Getting the Big Picture on Small Towns
Although it is hard to explain taste, Mimi Avins’ attack on “The Good Girl” seems particularly misplaced. Both my wife and I feel “The Good Girl” was one of the finest American movies of the year.
Although the setting was in a Texas suburban area, the character’s home and work could have been anywhere in the suburban sprawl of America. The screenplay accurately reflected the human condition of trying to cope with life with escapist fantasies, whether through searching for romance, the use of drugs or addiction to television.
