Only One Man Says He Wasn’t That Great

T.J., glad to hear you left the King game early. As a longtime season-ticket holder, I hate seeing nonfans at the game when loyal fans could be in those seats. How sad is it that any sportswriter would leave an event early. Do us all a favor and leave the Kings out of everything you say or write. Let your editor assign Lonnie, Helene or Jerry to future King games.

And who cares about your personal dislike of Phil, Tim and the AEG!? Their millions of investment money have brought great entertainment to the L.A. market. I thank them every chance I get!

Next time your editor assigns you to a hockey game, just cover it from home and watch boringball, I mean baseball, instead. Nothing greedy about that sport.

You know, T.J., as a citizen of the U.S. and a member of the media, you are certainly entitled to your opinions, even if they are wrong. But I think it was pretty classless for you to write a column criticizing the greatest hockey player to ever live, not to mention one of the most gracious, humble, and classiest athletes in existence, on the one occasion we have in Southern California to finally honor Wayne Gretzky for the incredible talent and the human being that he is.

I happen to love the Angels too, but my choice was to be at Staples Center on Wednesday night for a once-in-a-lifetime event for a once-in-a-history athlete.

The Kings do not sign any of the big free agents over the summer because they want to groom their rookies. Fans gnash their teeth but hope for the best.

Flash forward three months.

Jared Aulin: Sent to the minors. Yanick Lehoux: to the minors. Pavel Rosa: to the minors. Michael Cammalleri: to the minors. Scott Barney: to the minors.

Dave Taylor and Tim Leiweke, do you have any other bright ideas (other than the league-imposed netting behind the goals that obscures the view of the game)?
