Three people attending a party in El Rio were wounded, one critically, in a shooting early Sunday outside a home.

Ventura County sheriff’s investigators had no suspects or a motive.

The shooting came three days after two men were shot dead in separate incidents in Oxnard, but Sheriff’s Department spokesman Eric Nishimoto said there didn’t seem to be any link.

What investigators did know Sunday was that two men drove up to a house on the 1100 block of Helsam Avenue at 5 a.m. They walked up the driveway and at least one of them began shooting indiscriminately at people in the frontyard.

Two 19-year-old males, one of whom lives in the house while the other is from Oxnard, and a 19-year-old female, whose residence wasn’t known, were shot.

Officials refused to identify the victims, citing the ongoing investigation.

The El Rio man was in critical condition at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, where he underwent surgery for a single gunshot wound to his face. The Oxnard man was in fair condition at Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura after surgery for multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body. The woman, who was grazed by a ricocheting bullet, was treated at the scene for a superficial wound.
