Yvette Schumer, 86; Talent Manager, Producer Began in N.Y.

Yvette Schumer, 86, producer and talent manager whose clients had included Richard Gere, Michael Jeter and Christine Baranski, died Sept. 21 in Los Angeles following a brief illness.

Schumer’s nearly six-decade career began in New York City, where she produced such shows as “New Faces of 1956,” “Plain and Fancy” and “Winesburg, Ohio.” She also went to London to produce “The Dancing Heiress.”

Later, she teamed with the late Ronald Muchnick to form the Muchnick/Schumer talent agency. She also had her own agency. Over the years, Schumer also represented such entertainers as Lesley Ann Warren, Nicholas Pryor, James Rebhorn, Gordon Thompson, Paul Hecht, Walter Bobbie and John Connolly.

She was active in the Actors Fund of America.
