There Will Be Plenty of Action at Every Turn

Share

Those who prefer races around a turn at this track will be happy this evening.

Five of the 10 events on the program are 870 yards or longer, beginning with the first.

Fair King, a 3-year-old appaloosa trained by Kelly Lewis for owner Cathy Monji, is the one to beat in the 870-yard opener.

In the second, Arabian fillies and mares will get together at six furlongs.

Veteran marathon specialists will get together in the fourth and the sixth. The fourth is an 870-yard race for $8,000 claimers and the sixth is the lone thoroughbred race of the card. Ten $5,000 claimers are scheduled to go 4 1/2 furlongs in the sixth. Finally, Arabian fillies and mares will go six furlongs in the eighth.

The picks: 1. Fair King. 2. Sparky Scales. 3. Contreras. 4. Timothy Pilot. 5. Jolinos Dasher. 6. Never Ready. 7. Lucky Colours. 8. Rodania Arbi. 9. Bac To Amaze You. 10. Sunday Blush.

Four! Single Fair King in the first, use the Paitan-One Off entry, Sparky Scales and Tiki Arbi in the second, Contreras, The Joy Of Jazz and Firm Investment in the third and Timothy Pilot, Sir Elton and Raisin Slew in the fourth.

Shots in the dark: In the fifth, Hes Worth A Million should improve after a long layoff. Rainbows Primetime had a rough trip in his latest race and could rebound in the seventh.
