Crime Figures
So we now have 1.3 million criminals in jail (“Adults Punished for Crimes Hits Record,” Aug. 26). The article intimated this number was too large. But considering our horrific crime rate, it’s obvious to any reasonable person that the number should be more like 5 million or 10 million in jail.
It would be interesting to know the number and percentage of violent crimes being committed by those 4 million probationers and, particularly, the parolees. Figures I’ve seen in the past indicate that those numbers are also horrific.
