Sewage Spill Closes Portion of Poche Beach
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Orange County health officials closed nearly half a mile of shoreline at Poche Beach on Wednesday after raw sewage tainted ocean waters.
A possible line blockage caused 2,000 gallons of waste to flow out of a mobile home park on the inland side of Coast Highway and into Poche Creek, which empties into the ocean. Coastal waters 1,200 feet on either side of the creek’s mouth will be off limits to swimmers until bacteria levels drop, said a spokeswoman for Orange County’s Health Care Agency.
