Man Critically Hurt in Street Attack
A 23-year-old Oxnard man was in critical condition Tuesday after he was attacked by several men in the 100 block of Hill Street, authorities said.
The man, whose name is being withheld by police, was walking west on Hill Street about 5:10 p.m. Sunday when he was approached by two men.
The victim was attacked as he tried to run away, authorities said.
Several other men then joined the assault, forcing the victim to the ground, according to police.
The attackers fled before officers arrived.
The victim was treated by firefighters at the scene before being taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center with severe head injuries.
No arrests have been made.
Police suspect the attack was gang-related.
