Teen Pleads Not Guilty in Driving Death

A teenager accused of driving her family’s station wagon into two bicyclists in January, killing a 6-year-old girl and injuring her friend, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony hit and run and one of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. A preliminary hearing was set for June 9.
Megan Coughran, 18, a high school senior, entered the plea Wednesday in Santa Clara County Superior Court.
Amy Malzbender died after the Jan. 28 collision in Palo Alto.
