Ken Griffey Jr. dislocated his right shoulder while diving for a fly ball Saturday in the Cincinnati Reds’ 9-7 loss to the Chicago Cubs at Cincinnati.

He left the game and had the shoulder popped back into place by team physician Dr. Timothy Kremchek. Griffey was taken to a hospital for tests. X-rays showed no break.

With the Cubs leading, 6-5, Griffey turned his back to the infield and tried to run down Paul Bako’s drive with two out and the bases loaded in the eighth inning.

He stretched his right arm and dived, but the ball eluded his outstretched glove and Bako was credited with a triple. In all, Bako had a career-high six runs batted in.

San Francisco 6, Milwaukee 5 -- At Milwaukee, the unbeaten Giants won their fifth in a row, handing the winless Brewers their fifth straight loss. Benito Santiago had three hits, including his third homer, and drove in two runs to lead the Giants. The Brewers are 0-5 for the first time since 1984.

Houston 2, St. Louis 1 -- Brad Ausmus drove in the go-ahead run with a ninth-inning single at St. Louis. Richard Hidalgo’s run-scoring double off Jeff Fassero with two out in the ninth tied the score, 1-1. Ausmus then singled off Dustin Hermanson to drive in Hidalgo.

Philadelphia 16, Pittsburgh 1 -- Kevin Millwood had to leave after three innings because of a strained right groin, but the Phillies routed the previously unbeaten Pirates at Philadelphia behind Jimmy Rollins’ five hits and three RBIs. The Phillies had 19 hits.

Colorado 4, Arizona 3 -- Preston Wilson doubled home Todd Helton in the 10th inning at Coors Field. With one out, Helton walked and Wilson doubled into the gap in left-center off Miguel Batista.

Florida 17, Atlanta 1 -- The Marlins got 23 hits at Atlanta and tied a club record for runs set on Sept. 17, 1995, against Colorado. The loss was the most lopsided for the Braves since a 17-1 defeat to Montreal on July 3, 2000.
