Readers Are Tired Too -- of Dodger Excuses

Share

How do I file a formal protest against the schedule makers for mistreating my Dodgers? Barely a week into the season, and our boys are kaput.

After all, it’s not fair to make an L.A. ballclub open the season one state and one time change away in the Arizona desert. My team is next tormented by having to play four games down near the Mexican border? This just isn’t fair. To top it off, the team has to drive at least 1 1/2 hours up the freeway to next play at home. Not one day off for these poor guys. No wonder the team is already worn out, rightfully complaining that it has been “strenuous” and they are “drained.”

What happens when this unjustly abused team travels east this summer to play the Mets, Phils and Pirates? If the weather is hot and muggy, they might have to forfeit a game or two so they can get some rest.

And all this time, I was buying into the lie that these grunts in the Iraqi desert were having a tough time. They act like going from Basra to Baghdad is some big deal. I’d like to see what their morale would be like after they’ve been whip-sawed from Vegas to Orange County for a couple of meaningless exhibition games.

“Marathons Straining Bullpen” and “Sale Effort Causes Uncertainty.” Shawn Green says it was “the most strenuous 10 days of my career.” Brian Jordan: “It’s taken a toll on our bodies and we’re showing it.”

WAAH! WAAH! WAAH!

These babies need a reality check. Strenuous is working two jobs to make ends meet, often without a day off for weeks at a time. These pampered millionaires continually forget that they are paid large sums of money for playing a game!
