O’Malley Already Had This Football Idea

Share

Imagine how different it could have been had Peter O’Malley built that football stadium in Chavez Ravine when he first floated the idea back when he owned the Dodgers.

We would now have a beautiful new NFL-caliber football stadium in an absolutely beautiful location on a hill above L.A. An expansion team (or two) would be playing in it. We would have hosted a Super Bowl (or two). More important, Peter O’Malley would still own the Dodgers because of the money from the football stadium, Mike Piazza would still be a Dodger, and maybe Los Angeles might have just had its first Freeway World Series.

Wouldn’t that have been great? Think of the possibilities! Instead, the stadium site wheel just keeps on spinning. I wish Mr. Glazer well. It is (as it was) a great idea.
