Driver Charged in Crash That Killed 2, Injured 3
A man has been charged with two felony counts of vehicular manslaughter and eight felony counts of driving under the influence after he allegedly caused an accident in which two men were killed and three others were injured.
The California Highway Patrol said Charles Johnson, 34, of Vallejo was arrested after the accident Sunday on Interstate 80 in Solano County.
Officials said Johnson was driving fast when he came upon slower traffic, forcing him to brake hard and swerve to the right.
His auto hit a car, which struck a pickup. The vehicles plowed down an embankment, where two of them struck trees.
