The biggest Dallas Maverick isn’t Michael Finley, Dirk Nowitzki or any of the other players. It’s owner Mark Cuban. No question he is energetic and dynamic, and apparently worthy of a one-hour television profile.

This edition of “Beyond the Glory” examines his early years, growing up in Mount Lebanon, Pa., and the path he took to becoming a billionaire NBA owner.

The show also deals with Cuban’s fines for criticizing NBA officials. After saying the NBA’s head of officials couldn’t manage a Dairy Queen, he served as a Dairy Queen manager for a day on Jan. 16, 2002.

Cuban spent two years in the early 1990s, after he had already become a millionaire, trying to become an actor in Hollywood. He says acting class was a good place to meet interesting women.

Of his success in life, Cuban said, “Somebody had to be the luckiest guy in the world. I’m just glad they picked me.”
