Many teams had the week off for spring vacation, but players from top-10 teams made good showings at local and national tournaments. David Yoon of Irvine Woodbridge shot 67-67 to win the AJGA Heather Farr Classic by five strokes. Lucas Lee of Torrance shot 68-73 to win the championship division of the L.A. City Junior Championships. Huntington Beach finished second by one stroke to Las Vegas Bishop Gorman in the 108-team Palmetto High School Championships in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Huntington Beach senior Derek Zellmer won the 16-18 division of the L.A. Junior Championships. Riverside Poly rolled along with a three-stroke victory at the Palm Springs tournament and a 33-stroke victory over Rubidoux.

Anaheim Servite remained unbeaten in the Serra League after defeating Santa Ana Mater Dei, 97-72, Wednesday. Adam Hewko, the Southern Section Division I defending champion in the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle, showed his ability in the 100 butterfly, winning in 53.81 seconds. In a meet involving two of the top Los Angeles County programs, La Verne Damien defeated Glendora, 108-62, in a Sierra League showdown.

Looking for some fast times? Santa Ana Foothill is the place to be this week as the Knights play host to No. 1 Irvine in a Sea View League meet Wednesday before entertaining several top teams at the Foothill Swim Games Thursday and Saturday. Irvine’s Courtney Cashion and Foothill’s Ashlee Henson are two of the premier sprinters in the region. In a key meet Friday, Goleta Dos Pueblos and host Santa Barbara will battle for the lead in the Channel League.

Fourth-ranked Fullerton Troy appears en route to its fourth consecutive league title after defeating Fullerton Sunny Hills in a key Freeway League match. North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake handled Calabasas, 13-5, in the only meeting of ranked teams. Several teams have been on spring break, and this will be a light week with many top players participating in the 103rd Ojai tournament, which runs Thursday through Sunday.

Long Beach Poly maintained its No. 1 ranking after edging cross-town rival Long Beach Wilson, 69-67, in a Moore League dual meet last Wednesday and winning the team competition of the Mt. San Antonio College Relays on Friday. North Hills L.A. Baptist is pressing Arroyo Grande for the No. 4 spot, thanks to the talents of national-record-setting sprinter Allyson Felix.

Santa Barbara San Marcos tumbled four spots after a close, five-game loss at unranked Santa Barbara. The Dons, along with Marmonte League front-runners Westlake Village Westlake and Simi Valley, remain on the bubble. Most teams swing back into action after spring vacations. Several are expected to participate in the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions this weekend.
