Trials Are Set to Begin for Antiwar Protesters

The 2,300 antiwar protesters who were arrested during mass demonstrations last month are scheduled to go on trial next week, but few are expected to face penalties more severe than a $100 fine, if any.
The protests, which started March 19 and lasted for three days, shut down several streets in the downtown district. City officials said they cost as much as $1 million for police overtime.
