Sherman Gay’s offensive rebound and layup with 30 seconds remaining gave Loyola Marymount a 58-57 victory over Central Connecticut in the Mohegan Sun Classic championship game Sunday at New Britain, Conn.

The Lions (4-0) trailed, 56-49, with 3:01 to play but took advantage of a technical foul on Ron Robinson 23 seconds later.

After being called for his fourth foul, Robinson was tagged with a technical foul for arguing with an official. Charles Brown made the two free throws for the technical.
