Look Into the Past Seems a Bit Cloudy
Chris Dufresne wrongly continues to use the 1997 Nebraska-Michigan polls to indicate the polls were mistaken. He mentions that Michigan dropped after winning the Rose Bowl but never mentions the fact that it barely beat Washington State.
Then Nebraska blasted a team ranked higher than Washington State. I think a reasonable voter would say that a move up in the polls was reasonable. But not Dufresne.
I will take the coaches’ polls every time against biased sportswriters who always favor the team from the high population.
