Medical Lab Exec Guilty of Tax Evasion, Theft
The chief executive of a Chino medical lab pleaded guilty Tuesday to tax evasion and grand theft and was sentenced to two years in state prison and ordered to pay $92,000 in restitution by a San Bernardino County Superior Court judge.
Mary M. Solis, 34, who directed Bio-Scientific Clinical Lab Inc. in Chino was charged with defrauding Medi-Cal by submitting false claims totaling $720,000 for services never rendered or authorized.
Solis omitted filing corporate income of more than $669,000 in 1999, according to the Franchise Tax Board.
