Feeling Giddy, Dread Over Bob Dornan Race

Re “Dozens File to Run in Primary,” Dec. 6:

The story about Dogged Dana Rohrabacher facing Bully Bob Dornan in a congressional race is too good to be true for anyone who is politically aligned from right of center to the far left.

Oh, the pure joy of watching two vipers eating each other’s tails to the bitter, poisonous end sends me into giddy convulsions. When the vitriol from these two loudmouthed, embarrassing and pointless-to-distraction politicos comes to a merciful end, perhaps all of Orange County can truly be represented as a place where diversity of culture and opinions are not discounted as mere unpatriotic stammering from the loyal opposition.

So, Bob and Dana, have at it and be consumed by your own rhetoric.

After checking and rechecking the date on this morning’s Los Angeles Times Web site, I’m finally convinced that today is not April 1, despite the frankly bizarre news about Robert Dornan’s threatened primary run against Rep. Dana Rohrabacher.

While I can’t claim to have been a major Rohrabacher fan in the past, at this point I’d walk any precinct Dana asked me to if it would help guarantee the end of Dornan’s political career.

Congress is already dysfunctional enough without adding such a publicity-hungry, arrogant and seemingly unbalanced individual to the fray.
