Bulls End Trail Blazer Streak, 102-87
Jalen Rose scored 32 points and Tyson Chandler had career highs with 27 points and 18 rebounds as the Bulls defeated Portland, 102-87, Tuesday night at Chicago, ending the Trail Blazers’ eight-game winning streak.
Rose scored 11 in the final quarter, as the Bulls ended a three-game losing streak against the Trail Blazers, who were playing their fourth game in five nights.
Chandler scored the Bulls’ first seven points and had 13 in the first quarter, finishing the first half with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Washington 105, San Antonio 103 -- Jerry Stackhouse scored 25 points at Washington to help the Wizards get a rare victory over a team with a winning record.
The Wizards had lost four of their last five. They had lost seven in a row to teams currently with winning records while going 5-0 against teams below .500 in December.
Boston 96, Memphis 89 -- Antoine Walker scored nine of his 33 points during a decisive 18-4 run during the third quarter at Boston. Walker, battling flu the last few days, also had 11 rebounds in helping the Celtics end a three-game losing streak.
Indiana 89, New Orleans 86 -- The Pacers overcame a 10-point halftime deficit and handed the Hornets their fifth straight loss and third in a row at home. The Hornets had won their first 11 games at home.
Houston 103, Milwaukee 80 -- Steve Francis scored 26 points and Cuttino Mobley added 19 at Houston to help the Rockets improve to 9-3 against Eastern Conference teams.
