A man in his mid-20s was brain dead and on life support Sunday after being wounded in a car-to-car shooting on the Harbor Freeway near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, police said.
The man was shot in the head about 4 p.m. Sunday while driving south on the freeway with three passengers, said Officer Don Cox of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The passengers managed to take control of the car and pull off the freeway.
The four were in a Chevrolet Celebrity when two men in a black car, possibly a Honda, pulled up on the passenger side and fired several shots, Cox said. He said the shooting appeared to be gang-related.
