Lotsalacy Trying to Rebound From Her First Defeat

Share

Lotsalacy, who suffered her first loss at 2-5 in the consolation to the Los Alamitos Million, will try to rebound in tonight’s seventh race, a $12,250 allowance at 350 yards.

Owned by Raul Martinez and trained by Chuck Treece, Lotsalacy had won her first two starts by daylight but was hampered by a poor start in the consolation and had to settle for third in a race won by longshot Be Real Quick.

Eddie Garcia will ride the gray, who will leave from Post 2 in the compact field of five.

The race will also mark the Los Alamitos debut of Proud Mellenna.

Idle for some six months, Proud Mellenna won her two starts in Utah, including the Utah Classic Futurity.

Trained by Paul Jones, she will break from the rail under Cody Jensen.

This race is one of four down the straightaway.

The other five races are around a turn, including two thoroughbred races at 4 1/2 furlongs, two 870-yard contests for quarter horses and an Arabian race at 4 1/2 furlongs.

The picks: 1. Bluegrass Blurr. 2. Raging Springs. 3. Merited. 4. Seyvilla Samsagain. 5. That Giver. 6. Restless Warrior. 7. Lotsalacy. 8. Butter Me Up Cst. 9. Adams County.

Four! Single Restless Warrior in the sixth, use Lotsalacy and Teller Corona in the seventh, Score One and Butter Me Up Cst in the eighth and Oakes Trot, Bedazzled You and Adams County in the ninth.

Shots in the dark: Falling In Luck steps up in the second in search of his third win in a row. Secret Samuri debuts in a weak race in the third.
