Fans of sprint stakes will turn their attention to Florida today for the annual Summit of Speed card at Calder.

Only one of the 13 races at the Miami track is longer than 6 1/2 furlongs. Included are three graded stakes and a pick five with a guaranteed pool of $500,000.

The pick five races are the $100,000 Calder Turf Sprint Handicap, $300,000 Azalea Breeders’ Cup, $300,000 Carry Back, $500,000 Princess Rooney Handicap and $500,000 Smile Sprint Handicap.

Won last year by eventual Breeders’ Cup Sprint and Eclipse champion Orientate, the six-furlong Smile, a Grade III, attracted a strong field of 13, topped by Echo Eddie and the Scott Lake-trained My Cousin Matt and Shake You Down.

Claimed by Lake for owner Robert Cole Jr. for $65,000 on March 12 at Aqueduct, Shake You Down hasn’t lost in four subsequent races. He won back-to-back allowances at Aqueduct, then two graded stakes -- the Bold Ruler and True North Breeders’ Cup Handicap -- at Belmont Park.

Race of the day: Full Moon Madness, who has won four of six on the Hollywood Park turf course, will make his first start since last July 13 in the $75,000-added Robert Kerlan Memorial Handicap. The 8-year-old gelding, who will be ridden by Jose Valdivia Jr., won the 2000 Kerlan. De Valmont, No Armistice, Ecstatic, Rocky Bar and Sea To See round out the field in the 5 1/2-furlong race.

One for the road: Patriot’s Song stretches out to a mile in the sixth at Belmont Park after finishing with interest in his comeback sprint, a race won by the talented Ghostzapper. The 4-year-old Sultry Song colt, who broke his maiden at Hollywood Park in 2002, might be able to beat likely favorite Guardian.

Exotically speaking: A pick four using Taste Of Paradise and Tough Game in the sixth, singling French Debutante in the seventh, Rocky Bar, Full Moon Madness, No Armistice and Sea To See in the eighth and Turn To Victory, Cleartalker and Just Me in the ninth.
