Fire Displaces 12 at Oxnard Condos
A dozen people were displaced from their homes and more than $100,000 in damage was sustained in a fire Sunday afternoon at an Oxnard condominium fourplex.
The blaze started about 12:45 p.m. on the ground floor of a two-story condo in the 1200 block of Miramar Walk, said Battalion Chief Tom Waller of the Oxnard Fire Department.
It took 45 firefighters about 10 minutes to extinguish the blaze, Waller said. The contents of the condominium where the fire started were destroyed and there was extensive smoke and water damage to all four units, Waller said.
One firefighter suffered a minor elbow injury when he fell partially through a charred staircase.
