Fans of the Food Network’s Emeril Lagasse will be able to see a lot more of the celebrity chef, who just signed a five-year, multimillion-dollar renewal with the cooking channel.

Lagasse’s deal includes 90 new episodes annually of “Emeril Live!,” 26 episodes a year of the popular “Essence of Emeril” and new specials. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Lagasse’s shows will also now be sold outside the U.S., while viewers at home can expect to see home videos and DVDs of the New Orleans chef for the first time, as Food Network takes on those rights.

Separately, the History Channel said its fall schedule will be divided into theme nights, including Monday miniseries on historical topics that have relevance to today’s issues, technology on Tuesdays, and military history on Fridays.

New series and specials include “Extreme History with Roger Daltry,” in which the lead singer of the Who will talk about surviving history’s most challenging scenarios; “Tactical to Practical,” which looks at objects in everyday use that have their origins in military history; “History Now,” otherwise known as current events; and “Come Home Alive,” which will recap international acts of aggression against Americans, told through firsthand accounts and reenactments.
