Fifth ‘Potter’ tops Amazon list
The fifth book in the “Harry Potter” series has already become the bestselling new product ever on Amazon.com’s flagship U.S. Web site, with more than half a million copies ordered in advance of publication, which is set for June 21, the Internet retailer said Wednesday.
“Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” the next book in the series about a boy with magical powers, has surpassed “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” the fourth installment, as the top new product release on the site, www.amazon.com.
In total, Amazon.com has received more than 875,000 orders for the book on all of its Web sites worldwide in the last four months, the retailer said.
