Ex-Convict Charged in Crash That Killed 3
Murder and felony drunk driving charges were filed Friday against an ex-convict held after a 100 mph-plus crash killed a man and two children on the westbound Ronald Reagan Freeway early Wednesday, officials said.
Authorities said a Chevrolet Corvette driven by Timothy Whelan, 35, rear-ended a car whose driver apparently was trying to maneuver out of the way.
Officials said the victims, a 35-year-old man, a girl between 8 and 10 years old and a boy about 5, still have not been identified.
Whelan’s arraignment in San Fernando is set for Nov. 20.
