It’s Bosh to the Rescue

Toronto’s Chris Bosh forced an overtime with his first NBA three-point field goal and scored 10 of his season-high 25 points in the extra periods to lead the host Raptors to a 101-97 double-overtime victory over the Houston Rockets Sunday.

Bosh, a Georgia Tech standout who was the fourth overall pick in this year’s draft, made his three-pointer with 7.2 seconds left in regulation to force overtime, then scored four points in the first extra period and six in the second as the Raptors improved to 5-0 at home and 5-5 overall.

“I was open. I felt confident. I didn’t hesitate. The basket looked pretty big, so I just let it go,” Bosh said.

In regulation, he made a shot over 7-foot-6 Yao Ming, reducing Houston’s lead to one point with 32 seconds left. Steve Francis then made a 19-foot jump shot, giving the Rockets a three-point lead with 15 seconds left, but a double-teamed Vince Carter passed to Bosh, whose three-point shot tied the score.

“He was lucky. He just threw it up and hoped it went in,” said Francis, who scored 25 points.

Sacramento 106, Golden State 104 -- The Kings remained unbeaten at home with a 5-0 record after beating the Warriors for the 15th consecutive time. Peja Stojakovic, who had 33 points, made two free throws with 1.3 seconds left for a 106-103 lead.
