Police Arrest Fugitive in Fatal Shooting

From Times Staff Reports

Los Angeles police arrested a fugitive sought for several months in the killing of taxi driver Rogelio Magana, who was shot near El Segundo Boulevard and Hoover Street on May 22.

Edward Thomas, 18, surrendered without incident about 2 a.m. Wednesday after officers surrounded the Carson home where he was staying, police said.

Thomas was the subject of several public appeals and reward offers from police, who considered him dangerous. He is being held on $2 million bail.
