Alstott Is Out for Year

Tampa Bay fullback Mike Alstott was put on injured reserve Tuesday because of a neck problem that may require surgery.

General Manager Rich McKay said the season-ending injury, which has bothered the six-time Pro Bowl selection for about three weeks, is not believed to be career-threatening.

Alstott started Monday night’s game against Indianapolis. It’s unclear when he aggravated the injury in the 38-35 overtime loss to the Colts.

Also, the Buccaneers said that receiver Keyshawn Johnson is questionable for Sunday because of a left thigh bruise.

Officials in Maricopa County (Ariz.) filed a felony charge of aggravated domestic violence against Tampa Bay running back Michael Pittman in connection with an argument with his wife in May near their Phoenix home that resulted in two aggravated assault charges.
