Denver Bronco quarterback Jake Plummer isn’t sure if he’ll play Sunday after aggravating an injury to his throwing shoulder against Kansas City.

Plummer didn’t throw in practice Wednesday and a decision on his status for Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh won’t come until Friday. He is expected to test his shoulder today and increase his throws on Friday.

“We’ll keep our fingers crossed and see what he can do tomorrow,” Bronco Coach Mike Shanahan said.

Plummer partially separated his shoulder while diving for a first down in the first half against San Diego on Sept. 14. He aggravated the injury last Sunday against the Chiefs when he was knocked to the ground on a pass that hit center Tom Nalen.

Jason Sehorn, penciled in as the St. Louis Rams’ starting free safety for Monday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, was listed as questionable on Wednesday.

Coach Mike Martz said it might be too much to expect Sehorn, who resumed practicing two weeks ago, to play right away.

“He’s got to get back into the flow of things and reads and coverages and run support and all those things ... just don’t happen overnight,” Martz said.

New York Jet quarterback Chad Pennington was upgraded to doubtful, although there is no chance he will play this weekend against the Buffalo Bills.

Coach Herman Edwards said Pennington was listed as doubtful instead of out because he has started throwing again. Pennington broke and dislocated his left wrist in an exhibition game in August.
