Sean Burke made sure the Coyotes would have their best start since moving to Phoenix in 1996.

Burke made 29 saves and Shane Doan and Radoslav Suchy scored Wednesday night to lead the Coyotes to a 2-1 victory over the Florida Panthers at Sunrise, Fla.

Phoenix, out of the playoffs last season, improved to 3-0 for the first time since the 1987-88 season when the franchise was the Winnipeg Jets.

“As well as we’re playing, Burkey has been our best player every night,” Doan said. “The blue line is making smart decisions, but Burkey has been there to make the big save.”

Boston 2, Dallas 0 -- Andrew Raycroft had 27 saves for his first career shutout and Brian Rolston scored twice at Dallas to help the Bruins win for the first time this season.

The Bruins, who were 0-6-3 in their last nine games against the Stars, killed four power plays in the third period.
