Benson Set to Return
Texas running back Cedric Benson will return to practice this week and probably will start against No. 12-ranked Nebraska, Coach Mack Brown said Monday.
Benson didn’t practice last week and didn’t play in the No. 16-ranked Longhorns’ 56-0 victory over Baylor on Saturday after he was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing.
Police in Austin, Texas, said Benson and three other men forced open an apartment door Oct. 7 to search for a television Benson had reported stolen.

Georgia has lost another key player to a season-ending injury.
Cornerback Decory Bryant had neck surgery Sunday morning that will end his season and leaves his NFL future in doubt.
He is the seventh starter or top backup on the No. 4-ranked Bulldogs lost to a season-ending injury.
Bryant was injured on a kickoff return in the third quarter in Georgia’s 16-13 victory over Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday.

Illinois receiver Lonnie Hurst will sit out the season because of a broken right leg suffered in the team’s 36-10 loss to Minnesota on Saturday.
But he wasn’t the only casualty for Illinois, which has lost seven in a row.
Running back Pierre Thomas and receiver Kelvin Hayden are doubtful for Saturday’s game at No. 13-ranked Iowa, Coach Ron Turner said.
