Bob Tway two-putted for bogey on the third hole of a playoff with Brad Faxon in the Canadian Open on Sunday at Hamilton to become the eighth player 40 and over to win a PGA Tour event this year.

The 44-year-old Tway survived a close call on the second extra hole -- the par-five 17th -- when the 42-year-old Faxon, one of the best putters in the world, missed a 4 1/2-foot birdie try after a brilliant 50-yard bunker shot.

After they matched pars on the first two extra holes, Tway won on No. 18, about an hour after he closed with a 25-foot par putt to tie Faxon at eight-under 272. Tway shot a four-under 66 and Faxon had a 67.
