Couple Die When Struck While Crossing Road
An elderly couple died when they were struck by a pickup truck as they walked across Temescal Canyon Road, police said Saturday.
An investigation into the incident, which occurred about 8 p.m. Friday just south of Sunset Boulevard, is continuing.
Los Angeles Police Department traffic officers said it did not appear that the man, 79, and the woman, 73, were in a crosswalk when hit.
The Pacific Palisades residents died at the scene. Their names were withheld pending notification of relatives.
The driver, an 18-year-old Los Angeles man, has not been cited, police said.
