Tiger Safely Recaptured After Escaping Circus
From Times Wire Reports
After escaping from the circus, a white tiger alarmed picnickers and motorists in New York City on what for him apparently was a calm, half-mile stroll through the urban jungle.
The 450-pound animal, named Apollo, was safely coaxed back into his cage in Queens -- but not before the sight of him on the Jackie Robinson Parkway caused a multi-car accident. The Cole Bros. Circus was cited for creating an animal nuisance.
