The seven 2-year-old fillies running in today’s $250,000 Spinaway at Saratoga are collectively batting .750.

Classic Elegance, Punch Appeal, Miss Matched, Sense Of Style, Portsea, Play With Fire and Broadway Gold have won 12 of 16 starts.

The most accomplished member of the cast -- in terms of earnings -- is Classic Elegance.

A daughter of Carson City owned by Bob and Beverly Lewis and trained by Wayne Lukas, Classic Elegance has won three of four, most recently the Schuylerville, a local Grade II on July 28. For the third time in her career, the $650,000 yearling purchase has drawn the inside post for the Grade II race at seven furlongs and will be ridden by Pat Day, who has been aboard for her last two wins.

Three of the Spinaway participants were impressive first-race winners, especially Sense Of Style.

Owned by Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith and trained by Patrick Biancone, the Thunder Gulch miss won by 2 1/2 lengths as the 8-5 favorite over this track Aug. 1.

Race of the day: King Of Happiness, who was fourth in consecutive Grade I races at Hollywood Park and Del Mar, drops into a softer spot in search of his fifth win in today’s $75,000 Harry F. Brubaker Handicap at Del Mar.

One for the road: Hero’s Task got his first win in his turf debut at Delaware Park on June 28 and shows up in a new barn (Lisa Lewis’) for his first start against New York-breds in today’s ninth at Saratoga. The 3-year-old Partner’s Hero colt gets jockey Richard Migliore in the $44,000 allowance at one mile.

Exotically speaking: A place pick all using Awesome Dividend in the first, Our Emerald and Memogram in the second, Buttertart and Lori M’love in the third, Mr. Ching and Sharp Marc in the fourth, Excessive Hayate and Spend Spend Spend in the fifth, Marie’s Rose in the sixth, King Of Happiness in the seventh and Youaretheman in the eighth.

Winners: Previous day/meet total: 4/64. Money: Previous day/meet total: $18.80/$347.40. Total money bet: $442.
