3 Suspects Arrested in Fatal Stabbing of Oxnard Man
Three suspects were arrested Friday in connection with the fatal stabbing of an Oxnard man, police said.
A 17-year-old male believed to be responsible for the stabbing of Michael Newman, 28, on Sept. 20, 2003, was among those arrested, police said. His name was withheld because of his age.
Also arrested were Patricia Medina Luis, 38, and Jose Medina, 22, who are suspected of aiding the teenager after the homicide and therefore interfering with the investigation, police said.
The suspects were being held in lieu of $500,000 bail each.
Newman was attacked about 5:30 p.m. as he and a friend walked down a quiet residential street in Oxnard. The assailant pulled up in a car, got out and briefly argued with Newman before stabbing him, police said.
No other information about the suspect or a possible motive for the crime was released. The investigation is continuing.
