Darwinn Evolving Into a Frequent Winner
Darwinn will try for his third win in a row and 11th overall against five other Arabians in the $7,500 Summer Fest Handicap at six furlongs.
Trained by Bernice Corcoran, the 6-year-old Ala Croixnoire gelding won at this distance over the track June 10 as the 6-5 favorite, then won a minor stakes at 5 1/2 furlongs 18 days later in Stockton. Agapito Delgadillo, who was aboard for the local win, is back on tonight.
A few others in the lineup are coming off wins. Allegro won by nearly four lengths June 16 at Stockton, Proof Arbi won easily on June 20 and Phine And Dandy won his third in a row May 15.
