San Clemente Crash Victim Is Identified
From a Times Staff Writer
A San Clemente man who died Thursday in a car accident has been identified as Gary Paul Petry, police said.
Petry, 50, had just filled his son’s truck with gas when he sideswiped one car and crashed into a sport utility vehicle on Coast Highway in San Clemente, said Lt. Larry Abbott of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. An autopsy is scheduled.
A 34-year-old San Juan Capistrano woman who was driving the SUV was hospitalized with fractures and a dislocated hip.
