Singletary Duo Is Burke Memorial Favorite
Lindas Dasher and Heza Secret Diamond, who will race coupled because of common ownership, are the 6-5 favorite in tonight’s $418,000 Ed Burke Memorial Futurity at 350 yards.
Trained by Scott Willoughby for owners Christian and Ru Anna Singletary, Lindas Dasher and Heza Secret Diamond won their trials for the Burke.
Lindas Dasher, a 2-year-old daughter of Chicks Beduino, was the fastest qualifier in 17.35 seconds.
Jockey Sam Thompson, who rode both halves of the Singletary entry and two other Burke qualifiers in the trials, has opted to stay with Lindas Dasher. Thompson has won two of the last five Burkes, scoring with Corona Kool in 1999 and Morning Snow in 2002.
