Concerts for Kerry rebooked

The Walt Disney Concert Hall fundraiser for Sen. John F. Kerry’s presidential campaign has been rescheduled for 8 p.m. on June 24. The show featuring Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson and Billy Crystal had been slated for Monday night but was postponed in deference to former President Reagan, who died Saturday.

Streisand and Diamond will be performing together for the first time in 24 years, and other celebrity participants are expected. The Massachusetts senator will also speak. Tickets are still available, the campaign said Wednesday.

A New York companion fundraiser was similarly postponed and will now be staged July 8 at Radio City Music Hall. Kerry campaign staffers said the performers for that show will be announced next week. Before the schedule juggling, the advertised performers for the East Coast show included Bette Midler, James Taylor and Robin Williams.
