1 Dead, 3 Injured by Gunfire in Pomona
Four people were shot, one of them fatally, outside a house in Pomona on Friday night, police said.
A fifth person was hit by a car during the incident in the 1000 block of Cambrin Road, about a half mile south of Frank G. Bonelli Regional County Park.
Three people were detained for questioning, police said.
Identification of the victims was not immediately available. The most severely wounded, a man in his 20s, died at a local hospital. A 51-year-old man, his 9-year-old son and a 39-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds in the legs but were expected to survive. An 18-year-old man suffered minor injuries when hit by a car.
The shootings took place about 7 p.m., police said. Officers said the circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately clear. , Neighbors said the father and son were believed to be residents of the house in front of which the shootings occurred.
