Garciaparra Ponders a Return to Cubs
Nomar Garciaparra, who can become a free agent after the World Series, will consider staying with the Chicago Cubs, his team after being traded from Boston on July 31.
“Do I know what’s going to happen, what is going on? That I can’t foresee,” Garciaparra said before Sunday’s season finale against Atlanta, one day after the Cubs were eliminated from the wild-card race.
“I’m going to experience something I never experienced in the off-season. Like I said, this is one of the places I’ll consider. No question.”
In 42 games with the Cubs before Sunday, Garciaparra batted .294 with four home runs and 19 runs batted in.
