Police Seize 12,000 DVDs, Arrest 3 in Raid
A traffic stop led to the arrest of three people suspected of operating a bootleg movie operation in a South Los Angeles apartment.
Los Angeles police said Arron Munoz, 32; Edward Alonso, 18; and Jesus Crus, 18, were charged with one felony count. Police raiding the home on West 65th Street seized 12,000 counterfeit DVDS, including such recent film releases as “Collateral” and “The Bourne Supremacy,” along with six DVD-burning towers containing seven machines each and 20 VCRs.
Police said they discovered the operation when they pulled over a resident of the apartment for having expired registration tags and found bootlegged DVDs in his car.
