Body of Swimmer, 18, Is Found Near Pier

REDONDO BEACH
The body of an 18-year-old man who had vanished while swimming near the Redondo Beach Pier on Saturday night was found floating nearby Sunday morning.
The New Mexico resident, whose name was not released, was in the surf about 8:30 p.m. Saturday when he disappeared, a female friend told police.
A nurse returning to her beachside home after work about 6:30 a.m. found the body.
