Decision to Retry Rogers Delayed Until May 19
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
The Riverside County district attorney on Wednesday postponed until May 19 a decision on whether to retry Perris Councilwoman Rita Rogers on drug charges. A Riverside County jury on March 29 deadlocked on criminal charges against Rogers, including crack cocaine possession.
The postponement came as a Riverside County Superior Court judge sentenced Rogers’ son, Joseph Raymond Rogers, 30, to five years in prison for his conviction last month of manufacturing and possessing crack cocaine with the intent to sell.
